Mission Statement

The Day of Giving enables Essendant to act as one team to support charitable efforts in our local communities across the nation. By focusing our time, talent and treasure on one common goal, we hope to greatly impact the lives of those in need.

Our Goal

Working to prevent hunger and malnutrition by actively participating in hunger relief efforts for our local communities across the nation. By acting as one team, we hope to have a lasting impact on this year’s effort to Fight Hunger.

Opportunities for Engagement:

Celebrate the Past: Utilize this opportunity to showcase engagement in past charitable efforts to advance literacy..

Have a coordinator from a previous event present on how a past charitable effort has impacted the local community
Set up a table/bulletin board to highlight employee engagement ie. photos, statistics, pamphlets about charitable efforts

Engage Today: Create an opportunity to host an on-site event seeking active employee engagement on the chosen Day of Giving.

Partner with your backpack school to help in the library, build out a classroom nook, or volunteer to read to the students.
Bring in a speaker to talk about the importance of nutritional or financial literacy
Host a book collection event
Put on a read-a-thon
Volunteer at a local book-bank and help sort books
Build a free little-library at a local school or park
